On January 25, during the parliamentary briefings the member of the NA Civil Contract Faction Vahagn Hovakimyan, responding to the opposition deputies’ claims that that political persecutions are carried out towards the persons with opposition views, has noted that there no political prisoners and there will not be in Armenia anymore.

The Secretary of the NA Civil Contract Artur Hovhannisyan has added that the comments of the opposition on the detentions and arrests are identical: “There are qualified either political persecutions or it is found out that the detained or the arrested person has some health problems, and they present certain complaints on that basis and try to change the restraint measures.”
